Personal Insurance
Auto
Does your auto policy need a tune-up?
You need car insurance...it's the law. It's also smart. Protect yourself and others by getting adequate coverage on all your vehicles. Ask one of our agents to help you understand how you can protect your family's financial stability by selecting the right amount of liability coverage, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, medical expenses coverage, and personal injury protection.
You have to drive, but that doesn't mean you have to pay a lot to do it. Ask about good student and good driver discounts as well as discounts for multiple vehicles insured. If your car has airbags, anti-theft devices, and/or automatic seat-belts, you could qualify for additional discounts. If an accident does occur, get back on the road fast with towing coverage and rental car reimbursement. Contact your agency today to "tune-up" your policy.
Home
HOME SWEET HOMEowners policy
It's your home, your castle, your sanctuary...it also holds all the things you value and have worked so hard to acquire. Take into consideration a few things when it comes to keeping your home safe. Since every situation is different, discuss what options are available with your agent. Most homeowners policies cover fire and smoke damage, personal belongings, theft, liability, and other risks.
There may be important coverages that you need to add because they are not on a standard policy, such as flood, earthquake, and high value belongings. Make your life simple by combining your home and auto to receive a multi-policy discount. You can also qualify for discounts by installing anti-theft devices, fire extinguishers, dead bolt locks, smoke detectors, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems. Call your agent for a review of your sanctuary, and we'll help keep it safe and sound.
Umbrella
Even if it doesn't look like rain, you still need an umbrella.
Accidents happen, but your insurance will cover it, right? Not always. For example, what if you have an auto accident and are required to pay $700,000, but your insurance policy only covers $250,000? Without an umbrella, you'll be liable for the remaining $450,000.
Umbrella policies provide additional insurance that takes over when a claim uses up all of the homeowners or auto insurance. They can even cover some losses that home and auto insurance do not cover. They provide insurance amounts as low as $1,000,000 and may provide $5,000,000 or more. Umbrella polices are more affordable than you may think and work easily with your existing home and auto policies.
Flood and Earthquake
If the grounds a rockin'...we'll come knockin'
Your basic homeowners insurance policy does not protect you against damage from earthquakes and floods. Whether you are in a high-risk area or moderate-to-low risk area, you should consider adding earthquake and flood insurance to your policy. More than half of all flood claims occur in areas considered to have low flood exposure. And each year there are around 5,000 earthquakes in the United States. Don't wait until it's too late – ask us about flood and earthquake insurance and start protecting your home today.
Boats and Recreational Vehicles
Toys...you know you'd cry like a baby if you lost one.
Toys are specialized vehicles that require more than just your basic auto policy for coverage. In fact, it is critical that you review each recreational vehicle with your agent because they often carry additional risk and may need a separate policy. Talk to one of our agents on how you can best protect your boat, ATVs, or other recreational vehicles.
Scheduled Personal Property
You've got stuff...you like that stuff...
Protect your most valuable belongings by scheduling them on your policy. Scheduled personal property coverage protects items whose value or risk potential exceeds the coverage available under your homeowners policy. Personal property to review for this coverage include jewelry, furs, cameras, projection equipment, musical instruments, expensive silverware, china, crystal, sporting equipment, fine arts, rare coins, postage stamps, guns, computer equipment and more.
Short-Term Disability
- Temporarily replaces a portion of your income in the event you are unable to work due to short-term disability (generally missing up to six months of work).
- Can help you maintain your standard of living and pay necessary bills while you are unable to work during recovery from an illness, injury, or accident.
- Most commonly, a short-term disability insurance policy is provided by employers, and there are a variety of plans available. Another option for purchasing is to secure an individual plan from an insurance agent.
Long-Term Disability
- Can help cover a portion of your salary in the event you are unable to work for an extended period of time (generally longer than three to six months) due to illness, injury, or accident.
- Many employers offer long-term disability insurance as part of their group benefits package for employees. However, an individual may also purchase their own long-term disability insurance policy through an insurance agent.
Whole Life Insurance
- Provides permanent, whole-life coverage.
- Premiums are generally more expensive than term insurance; however, premiums will not increase over time.
- No need for renewal - coverage lasts your entire life.
- Accumulates a cash value that may be borrowed by the insured.
Term Life Insurance
- Primarily used for temporary coverage.
- Typically purchased for a specific time period - 10 to 30 years, for example.
- Often used to help protect mortgages or pay benefits to family in the event of an untimely death.
- Premiums are usually less expensive than permanent insurance.
- When the term plan runs out, you must re-qualify for coverage based upon your current age and health conditions.
